On Sunday, November 17, 2019, The UTech Pharmacy Alumni, and The Caribbean Institute of Pharmacy Policy Practice and Research in collaboration with The School of Pharmacy, University of Technology, Jamaica, hosted the 7th Grace Allen Young Memorial Lecture, at UTech, Jamaica’s Papine Campus. The theme was “Paying it Forward. A Tool for Professional and National Development,” delivered by Guest Speaker — Keven O’Brien Chang, Chairman Fontana Pharmacies, Public Writer and Social Commentator. At the event, scholarship presentations were made to students. Please see below for details

Now on University Website
The University of Technology, Jamaica Press now has a presence on the University website at https://www.utech.edu.jm/about-utech. Details of how to submit Book Proposals and Manuscripts are posted on the website.
The Press was launched in February as a unit under the Office of the President and has been established to promote research and publications primarily among members of the University Community, providing an avenue for lecturers and other members of staff to publish the results of their research, and to produce works that will bring together established as well as new knowledge. The Press will be development-oriented, both in respect of the development of staff members, and in respect of its contribution to broad issues of development in Jamaica and the Caribbean. (more…)

Application for Jamaica House Fellowship Programme
Opens June 20, 2016
The Jamaica House Fellowship Programme will begin accepting applications from qualified candidates to serve as full-time paid Fellows at the Office of the Prime Minister on June 20, the day when the programme’s webpage goes live.
Prime Minister the Most Hon. Andrew Holness announced the Programme during his recent Budget Presentation, noting that it is designed to provide the government with the services of some of Jamaica’s most promising young minds and high capacity managers.
“Jamaica will be at its best when its most talented graduates see a career in the public service as among their highest possible ambitions,” said Prime Minister Holness.
Successful candidates will be working under the direct guidance and supervision of the Chief Technical Director in the Office of the Prime Minister and will be involved in a wide range of high impact projects. (more…)

The Hill family established the Tyrone McArthur Hill Memorial Scholarship Fund (US$750.00 contribution towards tuition fee, books, and/or related school expenses) to honor the life of Tyrone McArthur Hill as a loving father, diligent construction/engineering professional and outstanding former student at University of Technology (C.A.S.T.). Scholarships are awarded to students who have overcome life’s obstacles.
Eligibility
In order to qualify, applicants must:
-Be a graduating high school student
-Be accepted to attend University of Technology and present a copy of the acceptance letter(s) with this application

Dear CAST-UTech Alumni, Friends of UTech, and Friends of Jamaica,
Thanks for taking the time to read this post. We in the Alumni Relations Office have been approached by the Accommodations Unit to source funds to assist one of our 1000s of financially challenged students with on-campus accommodation for upcoming AY 2013-2014. Our Academic Year begins on August 23rd, 2013. The cost of on-campus accommodation is JAD $145,000.00 or US$1450 per annum.
Throughout the Academic Year we are constantly contacted by departments, and individual students seeking our assistance to offset the costs of student life. Yes we have a Scholarship Officer and a Welfare Officer, but there is just not enough money for them to service the real and credible demands of our students. (more…)
