What started out as hope that she would receive a return on the invested time and effort ended in the most favourable outcome for 23-year-old Donale Bryan, who copped the crown and title of Miss Manchester Festival Queen 2023.

The graduate of the University of Technology, who now works as a human resource practitioner in the aviation industry, was all smiles at the coronation show, held at the Belair High School Auditorium on Sunday, as she topped six other contestants. READ MORE | jamaicagleaner.com | 13 June 2023

Dr. the Hon. Nigel Clarke, Minister of Finance and the Public Service, (seated centre) Professor Haldane Johnson (seated left), Acting Deputy President, University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech, Jamaica) and Ms. Nickiesha Walsh, Executive Director, Students’ Loan Bureau affix their signatures on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) among the three institutions for the implementation of the Government of Jamaica’s 1000 STEM Scholarships valued at $2.4 billion over the next five cohort of new undergraduate students in need who meet the matriculation requirements for STEM courses of study offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Computing at UTech, Jamaica. 

Witnessing the historic signing (standing from left) are Mr. Lloyd Carney, Chancellor, UTech, Jamaica, Hon. Marsha Smith, Minister of State, Ministry of Education and Youth and Professor Sean Thrope, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Computing, UTech, Jamaica.  The MoU was signed at a special ceremony held Thursday, July 6, 2023, at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in Kingston.

Dear Members of the Alumni Community, UTech, Jamaica,

Please join our University Community in extending sincere congratulations to Engineer alumnus Dr. Kevin Brown on his appointment as our 5th President, effective 11th September 2023. We wish for him tremendous positive impact on the development of our institution, and on the students and nations served by the University of Technology, Jamaica.

The announcement was made by our Chancellor Mr. Lloyd Carney, yesterday 7th July 2023. Once the news began to circulate, members of the Alumni Community upon hearing, began sharing congratulatory messages and goodwill through us to Dr. Brown.
