VACANCY
An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Division of Community Service and Development for the following post:
Director, Community Service & Development – Level 10

The Director of Community Service and Development is responsible for the leadership, coordination and ongoing assessment of the community service and development functions of the University, including establishing a profile worthy of the Mission Statement. Its main roles include: coordinating service-learning activities initiated by academic and non-academic units of the university; directing and evaluating community development activities initiated by the Division of Community Service & Development, identifying the communities in which the University operates and coordinating other community development initiatives emanating from these academic and non-academic units.

Requirements:

The preferred applicant will possess the following:

• Master’s Degree Development Studies, Community Development/Social Work or another appropriate discipline in a recognized tertiary institution.
• Certification in Project Management would be an asset.
• Knowledge of community development locally and internationally.
• Knowledge of the Education Act and the UTech Act.
• Knowledge of UTech’s general policies, procedures and ordinances.
• Ability to work effectively and constructively with persons from diverse cultures and language groups.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and human relation skills.
• At least 6 years experience in community development and service including three (3) years of management and administrative responsibilities in a university setting.
