FULL TIME LECTURER

The University of Technology, Jamaica, School of Public Health and Health Technology seeks to identify an experienced professional lecturer in:

  • Public Health, Environment and Climate Change

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:                     

The successful candidate should possess a Masters Degree in Sanitary Engineering or a doctorate in Environmental Health or a related area.  A Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering would be a distinct advantage.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years’ public health practice experience.  The candidate will also need to demonstrate a clear commitment to teaching as well as research, and show evidence of successful educational/training practice. He/She will offer teaching through a variety of means including lectures, practicals, small group tutorials, problem-based learning, and ‘e-learning’ initiatives, and will be expected to innovate in each of these areas.

The role of Client Relations Officer plays an integral part in building and maintaining a relationship with new and existing customers. The role requires the incumbent to be disciplined and well organized and able to work in an entrepreneurial environment. The position requires a strong ability to generate sale leads and maintain and generate repeat sales. Day to day, the individual is responsible for being the main source of contact for clients, responding to phone calls and emails whilst also being proactive in contacting clients and maintaining relationships with existing clients.

Key Responsibilities
● Build and maintain relationships with clients
● Maximise opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling
● Conduct business reviews to ensure clients are satisfied
● Maintaining records of all contact with clients using CRM system
● Update CRM and ensure account managers are aware of changes within clients´ transactions
● Process invoices for all sales transactions to ensure prompt payment to vendors and employees

Senior Accounting Assistant – Level 7

(Permanent)

The Senior Accounting Assistant supervises and provides leadership to the staff of the Cashier Unit to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations in order to provide excellent customer service to the University’s clients. He/she also is responsible for ensuring that all monies collected at and on behalf of the University are properly accounted for and dispatched to the bank in a timely manner in accordance with the policies of the University. This responsibility also include; maintaining students’ accounting records, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding receivables and ensuring that the required reports are generated.

Requirements:

  • BSc, in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of the Integrated Student Administration System (ISAS).
  • Knowledge of the University’s financial policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of SYSPRO
  • Knowledge of Receivables Management policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of performing cash audit and preparing accounts schedules for audit.
  • Good communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good time management skills
  • Good analytical and report writing skills
  • Ability to pay close attention to details.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and personal information.
  • At least two (2) years of accounting or administrative/business experience; one (1) year at the supervisory level.

Registered Nurse (Level 8)

The Nurse is responsible for providing support to the Medical Practitioners in their duties, as well as performing routine health care practices, including advising and counselling. The incumbent also ensures the maintenance of accurate records of patients’ medical history and any other administrative function in respect of the staff and students at the University.

Requirements:

The preferred applicant will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing with Midwifery or a Certificate/Diploma in Nursing with Midwifery/Public Health Certification, at least five (5) years experience in a similar post; good knowledge of the laws, codes and regulations governing health care delivery, nursing theory, principles and techniques, public health nursing practices, interviewing techniques and medical data collection, patient care, treatment, planning and assessment, use and care of basic medical equipment; excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.

Registration with the Nursing Council of Jamaica is required.
