Finance & Business Services Division

 

The University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech, Jamaica) seeks to identify a suitable candidate to fill the post in the Finance & Business Services Division (Student Financing):

 

Welfare Assistant – Earn & Study (Level 5b)

(Permanent)

The Welfare Assistant – Earn & Study is responsible for providing administrative support to the Welfare Officer on matters relating to the University’s Earn & Study programme in accordance with the Student Financing Policies.  He/she will assist with the recruitment, placement and evaluation of suitable students to work on the Earn & Study programme.

Requirements:

The preferred applicant should possess

  • a Diploma in Human Resource Management/Social Work/Business Administration or equivalent qualifications;
  • at least one (1) year’s experience in an Administrative Office or similar environment;
  • knowledge of tertiary education policies and guidelines;
  • knowledge of customer service techniques, practices and principles;
  • knowledge of the University’s Student Financing policies and procedures;
  • knowledge of budget preparation, practices and management;
  • training in counseling and investigative interviewing;
  • training in report writing, record keeping and data management;
  • advanced computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and Visio; and
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
