Division of Student Services & Registry

 

The University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech, Jamaica) seeks to identify a suitable candidate to fill the following post in the Division of Student Services & Registry:

 

Assistant Registrar – Admissions & Enrolment   (Level 10)

Permanent

The Assistant Registrar – Admissions & Enrolment is responsible for developing admissions & enrolment management policies and procedures, and ensuring that these procedures are adhered to. The incumbent has the responsibility for quality control in the selection of applicants and the management of the enrolment of students for various courses of study in each College/Faculty at each campus location. He/she is expected to monitor student attrition and progress from admission to completion of courses through the preparation, maintenance and analysis of statistical data with a view to monitoring trends in all of the University’s programmes and making recommendations and projections based on these trends.

As a member of the management team within the Division, the Assistant Registrar – Admissions & Enrolment advises the Deputy Registrar and Registrar on key issues related to registration and enrolment and recommends appropriate action and direction.

 

Requirements:

The preferred applicant should possess

  • Master’s Degree in Education Administration or equivalent qualifications;
  • Knowledge of the University of Technology, Jamaica Act (l999), Policies, Procedures, Regulations and Ordinances;
  • Knowledge of Higher Education Systems and their Administration;
  • Knowledge of Academic Policies, Regulations and Procedures of the University;
  • Knowledge of Student Records Systems used by other universities;
  • Knowledge of Accreditation requirements;
  • Excellent presentation, communication and human relations skills.

 

At least five (5) years’ experience in an educational institution at a senior level, with at least three (3) years administering student affairs.
