VACANCY FOR FULL-TIME LECTURER
SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING (INDUSTRIAL)
FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND COMPUTING
The University of Technology, Jamaica, School of Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Computing seeks to identify experienced professionals to fill the following full-time Lecturer position:
- Industrial Engineering (Operations Research and Optimization)
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate should ideally possess a doctorate in the area or at least a Masters Degree/professional qualification in the relevant discipline.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates should ideally have at least five years experience in teaching and curriculum development at the undergraduate/postgraduate levels in a tertiary educational institution. A minimum of three years industry experience would be an advantage. The candidates must demonstrate a clear commitment to combining research with teaching and show evidence of successful educational practice as well as sustained professional engagement in their disciplines. An interest in developing services to industry will also be an important advantage. The successful applicants will offer teaching through a variety of means including lectures, practicals, small group tutorials, problem-based learning, and ‘e-learning’ initiatives.
