UTech Mentor Programme 2016-17

The University of Technology, Jamaica is currently recruiting professionals (Public, Private, Non-Governmental, Business, Religious Sector etc)  with 5 or more years work experience to serve as mentors to our students, especially final year students. Of course, we welcome all interested Alumni who wish to give-back and invest in youth development and our University, through our Mentorship programme. However our Mentors do not have to be past students of UTech, Jamaica. If you know of any professional who you think would provide excellent guidance to youth about to transition into the world of work, please share this link with them and encourage them to sign up to be a UTech, Jamaica Mentor 2016!

As a Mentor at the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech, Jamaica) You Have the Wonderful Opportunity to Draw On your Life Experiences, Failures and Triumphs to Guide and Encourage Students …

Who feel lonely, confused, completely overwhelmed

Who are at a crossroads, needing to make a critical do-or-die decisions but don’t have the experience or information needed, or the confidence to just-make-the-decision and move on with life powerfully

Who need someone that they know for sure is in their corner. Someone who has time for them…to listen, to understand, to encourage…to give them room to explore and fail without judgment, as well as to celebrate with them when they get it right

Who need someone to provide a safe space to work through the challenging life experiences, and be better, stronger, and wiser for it.

And our students at UTech, especially our final year students, need someone wise to the world, and to the workplace, to listen, to understand, to gently guide and to celebrate with them, as they take their final steps as students and transition into the uncertainties of:  job search; the workplace; re-paying student loans; establishing a meaningful career and creating a future they can pursue with hope and passion.

The Career & Placement Unit  is seeking to recruit 150 new & returning mentors to UTech Jamaica’s  Annual Mentorship Programme.

Can You Invest in UTech, Jamaica and the Caribbean by Mentoring an Upcoming Professional for this Academic Year 2016/17?
