Opportunity for start-up businesses to access up to J$4 Million in Grant Funding through the Innovation Grant from New Ideas to Entrepreneurship Project (IGNITE)

How IGNITE Works:

  • This is an offer for innovative start-up companies to access cash for commercially viable inventions or innovations
    • Start-ups or newly incorporated businesses registered for 2 years or less
  • Up to $4 Million is available to 30 businesses with the most innovative ideas or ventures
  • The grants are channeled through the Jamaica Business Development Corporation
  • The product or service must be new or significantly improved
  • Proposer must be able to present a business model and product representation to a selection committee

The Grant Covers:

  • Administrative expenses
  • Training
  • Equipment and machinery
  • Prototypes / pilots
  • Research and development
  • Patents
  • Technology acquisition
