An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Office of Curriculum Development & Evaluation for the following post:


Prior Learning Assessment Coordinator (Level 9)


The Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) Coordinator will be responsible for the ongoing development, implementation and coordination of prior learning assessment within the University.  He/she will be responsible for the management of the Prior Learning Assessment Unit including marketing and promotion and the administration of the Unit.  The Coordinator is expected to work collaboratively with faculty in evaluating knowledge and skills that have been learned through non-formal education, training or experience to determine the equivalency for credit to the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech) course.




The preferred applicant will possess: a Masters Degree in Education or a related discipline; at least five (5) years experience in teaching or administration at the tertiary level; sound knowledge of adult learning theory, adult education principles and process, principles of experiential learning , UTech policies and procedures, qualification requirement of all academic units within the University, Prior Learning Assessment processes, systems, policies and implementation strategies, teaching and assessment methods; excellent planning and organizational, communication, customer service, interpersonal, time management and facilitation and presentation skills.
